A six-year-old girl is fighting for her life following a serious crash in Virginia, north of Adelaide, authorities say.
Emergency services responded shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday to the intersection of King Road and Penfield Road, where a Toyota van and Toyota ute had collided.
The six-year-old, a passenger in the van, was hospitalized in critical condition. Also in the van were a 42-year-old Murray Bridge woman and two other children, aged 11 and 10, who sustained minor injuries.
In the ute, a 37-year-old Virginia man and a four-year-old girl were also treated for minor injuries at the hospital.
The intersection remained closed until about 5:30 p.m. while police and Major Crash investigators examined the scene.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers to assist with the investigation.
