Police Search for Wanted Shooting Suspect in Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI — Deputies are assisting in the search for a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Franklin County.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Tom Tindle, the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. on October 4, 2025, on Mildred Davis Road. John Starks III, 26, was killed, another person was critically injured, and a third victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, 24-year-old Roeland Williams of Franklin County, has reportedly spent significant time recently in Adams County.

“This is a serious and active investigation,” said Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten. “We are urging the public to remain vigilant and contact law enforcement immediately if they have any information on the whereabouts of this suspect. Our agencies are working hand in hand to bring him into custody safely.”
