Kristi Noem Says Senator Was ‘Manhandled’ by DHS Agents Because He ‘Attacked’ Her

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revisited her heated encounter with Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) on Tuesday, claiming the senator was manhandled by security agents because he had “attacked” her.

The incident dates back to June, when Noem held a press conference in Los Angeles as ICE agents carried out raids across the area, following President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard.

“I’m Senator Alex Padilla, I have questions for the secretary,” Padilla said before security officers grabbed him and escorted him out. “Because the fact of the matter is, a half-a-dozen violent criminals that you’re rotating on your—HANDS OFF!”

Agents later forced Padilla to the ground and handcuffed him in a nearby hallway.

Noem discussed the incident on Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News, just hours after Padilla questioned Attorney General Pam Bondi during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. During the exchange, Bondi accused Padilla of having “stormed” at Noem, a claim he denied.

“He absolutely did storm at me,” Noem told Watters. “He hit the ground because of how he attacked me that day. So, it’s hard to deny the video evidence.”

Watters then asked whether such behavior might inspire others to attack ICE officers.

“No, you should see the conversations outside,” Noem responded. “They’re threatening their lives. They’re saying molotovs melt ice. They’re talking about using weapons of destruction against our officers. And then these politicians stand up and say, ‘Well, we just need to talk some more.’”
