14-Year-Old’s Deadly Shooting Spree Shocks Hudson Valley Community

Prosecutors say a teen’s violent actions left the Hudson Valley community stunned after a deadly shooting in a Yonkers park and an earlier attempted murder.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced that a 15-year-old from Stratford, Connecticut, has been sentenced in Westchester County Court for murdering a man and attempting to kill another person.

According to prosecutors, the teen shot and killed 29-year-old Daquan Glenn in Doyle Park in Yonkers on August 26, 2024, when he was just 14. Around 5 p.m., he opened fire on two people at the park.

One victim was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the leg and survived. The other, Glenn, was shot multiple times, including two fatal shots to the head, and later pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center.

Authorities revealed that one month earlier, the teen had attempted to kill another person by firing a loaded gun at them. That victim also survived.

“The defendant’s lethal spree is all the more shocking given his age at the time of these offenses,” said DA Cacace.

This week, the teen was sentenced to 13 years to life in state prison for murder, plus 1 to 3 years for attempted murder. The sentences will run consecutively, meaning one after the other.

“More and more, we are seeing young offenders embrace merciless violence as a way of settling scores,” Cacace said. “This plague upon our communities must be addressed with every tool at our disposal — including policing, community investment, and legislative reform.”
