Over 20 Arrested in Miami Organized Crime Operation

Miami-Dade County officials have announced the results of Operation “Credit Bust Out”, a months-long investigation targeting organized criminal activity in the area.

Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Daniel Fernández and Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz shared details during a joint press conference in the City of Doral. The operation led to the arrest of more than 20 individuals connected to fraudulent vehicle purchases at dealerships across South Florida. By the time authorities intervened, the group had defrauded millions of dollars.

“Trust is the foundation of public service. When a resident comes to us for help, they deserve honesty and respect. That is why we will never tolerate fraud, corruption, or schemes,” said Tax Collector Fernández.

Investigators uncovered an organized criminal network involved in identity theft, falsified documents, and misrepresentation. The group conducted bank and dealership fraud, selling stolen vehicles to unsuspecting clients or shipping them overseas.

“This criminal organization was far-reaching, and we will continue to dedicate resources and deputies to pursue these cases further. Residents of Miami-Dade County deserve a Sheriff’s Office with the tools, staffing, and commitment to deliver results like this,” said Sheriff Cordero-Stutz.

Both Fernández and Cordero-Stutz expressed pride in the operation and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Miami-Dade residents from organized crime schemes.
