Illinois State Police Operation Results in Multiple Arrests and Seizures

TROY, Ill. — Illinois State Police (ISP) conducted a violent crime suppression detail from October 6 to 9, 2025, targeting the I-55, I-64, and I-70 corridors in Bond, Clinton, Madison, and St. Clair counties.

The operation focused on enhancing traffic safety, reducing fatalities, and apprehending individuals using highways for criminal activity. The effort produced:

  • 177 written warnings

  • 7 citations

  • 90 commercial motor vehicle inspections

  • 5 arrests

  • 17 felony charges

  • 1 stolen firearm recovered

  • 1 vehicle seized

A traffic stop near Pocahontas led to an arrest for Driving Under the Influence, while another stop near New Baden uncovered cannabis, methamphetamine, and a stolen firearm, resulting in two arrests with charges pending.

The operation involved ISP officers from patrol Troops 3, 7, and 8, along with the ISP Statewide Highway Interdiction Team, the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southern Illinois, and the South-Central Illinois Drug Task Force.
