MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 32-year-old woman is facing charges after deputies say she assaulted her girlfriend and struck a 2-year-old girl during an argument Tuesday night in Miami-Dade’s Westchester neighborhood.
Authorities said the incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. near the 8000 block of Coral Way.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Gretter Gonzalez Aguiar began arguing with her girlfriend while they were driving. During the dispute, Gonzalez Aguiar allegedly turned from the front passenger seat and struck her girlfriend in the chest as she held her 2-year-old daughter — accidentally hitting the child instead.
The arrest report says Gonzalez Aguiar then exited the vehicle and continued attacking her girlfriend with her hands and an unknown object once they stopped near Coral Way.
Deputies reported minor injuries, but the victim declined medical treatment from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
A short time later, deputies located Gonzalez Aguiar near Southwest 87th Avenue and 29th Street, where she was taken into custody.
Investigators said Gonzalez Aguiar, her girlfriend, and another man had been living together in a polyamorous relationship for about nine months. Authorities did not disclose what sparked the argument.
Jail records indicate Gonzalez Aguiar faces one count each of child abuse without great bodily harm and domestic battery.
The Cuban national was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and placed on an immigration hold as of Wednesday morning.
Her bond information has not yet been released.
