After more than a decade, Greyhound buses are back on the roads of Nebraska, with stops in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, and Lexington.
The nation’s largest intercity bus provider added these stops last month along its Chicago-to-Denver route, following the closure of Burlington Trailways’ Nebraska intercity service, which is now focused solely on charter operations. Interestingly, Burlington had initially started the Nebraska routes after Greyhound exited the state.
Karina Frayter, head of communications at Flix North America (Greyhound’s parent company), said, “Greyhound’s new service ensures uninterrupted intercity bus connections across the Midwest and Mountain West, keeping Nebraskans and neighboring communities connected with affordable and reliable travel options.”
Greyhound previously served Nebraska for decades, with service ending in Omaha in 2012 and Lincoln in 2005, making this a long-awaited return for travelers across the state.
