Bronx Woman Fatally Stabbed While Protecting Boyfriend in Nightclub Brawl

A 35-year-old woman was fatally stabbed with a broken bottle while defending her boyfriend during a violent brawl outside a Bronx nightclub early Sunday morning, police said.

The fight broke out around 4 a.m. outside Mama Dora on East Kingsbridge Road as the club was closing. Witnesses said two groups began fighting, and when the woman’s boyfriend was knocked to the ground, she stepped in to shield him.

“She got in the middle so they wouldn’t get to her husband, and that’s when she got stabbed,” one witness told reporters.

Police said the woman suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and was rushed in a private vehicle to BronxCare Health Systems, then transferred to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Surveillance footage shows a man in a yellow jacket lunging at the victim before being pulled away by others. Broken glass and what appeared to be the victim’s hair extension were left scattered across the sidewalk.

Authorities said the attacker used a shattered bottle as a weapon. As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been made.

“There’s not much left in the world,” said one shaken witness. “They need to find God.”
