$2 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in Ohio

OHIO — An Ironton man is celebrating a life-changing $2 million win after buying a $30 Royal Riches scratch-off ticket at Lucky Choice, 577 W. Nationwide Blvd., Suite 200, in Columbus, on October 22.

The winner, identified only as “J.”, said he was stunned when he realized he’d hit the top prize.

“Oh my God, is this real?” J. recalled asking himself.

He said he double-checked the ticket with a magnifying glass and even sent a photo to a family member to confirm the win.

A frequent Pick 3 and scratch-off player, J. said he often relies on a family formula based on detailed notes tracking past results. Though he’s had smaller wins before, this is his biggest prize yet.

J. chose the cash option and will receive $728,750 after taxes. He plans to share his winnings with family and his church and buy a new vehicle.

As of October 28, there are still four top prizes and ten second-tier prizes remaining for Royal Riches.

The Ohio Lottery says it has contributed over $34 billion to education since 1974. More information about Royal Riches and other games is available at ohiolottery.com.
