OHIO — An 18-year-old from Greenville died Monday afternoon in a head-on collision with a semi-truck in Miami County, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 12:37 p.m. to West State Route 41 near the 4600 block in Concord Township after reports of a serious crash.
When first responders arrived, they found a Toyota Highlander with severe front-end damage off the north side of the roadway. The driver, identified as Storm Domingo Mote, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mote was the only person in the vehicle.
A Kenworth semi-truck and trailer were found off the south side of the road. The truck driver was taken to Kettering Health Troy with non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness driving behind the semi told deputies that the Toyota crossed the center line before striking the truck head-on.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
