A strong cold front will sweep across North Texas on Tuesday, bringing gusty winds, isolated showers, and the coldest air since early April.
The front is expected to reach the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex by mid-morning, producing a few brief showers before moving eastward. Behind it, dry and much cooler air will push in, with winds shifting to the north and increasing in strength.
Wind speeds between 20–30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, are forecast Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. Residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture and loose items ahead of the strong gusts.
Temperatures will dip into the 40s by Wednesday morning, while daytime highs stay in the low to mid-60s through midweek. Thursday morning will remain cool, so light jackets are recommended.
By Halloween, weather conditions are expected to turn dry and comfortable, with daytime highs near normal and evening temperatures falling into the 50s — ideal for trick-or-treating.
