One arrested after road rage shooting on I-95 near Palm Beach-Broward County line

FLORIDA — A suspected road rage incident along Interstate 95 left one man hospitalized and another person behind bars Wednesday afternoon near the Palm Beach–Broward County border, authorities said.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. on I-95 northbound, just south of the Palmetto Park Road exit.

Deputies arrested Breanna L. Evans, 26, who now faces two counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, and one count of shooting from a vehicle. She remains in custody at the Broward County Jail.

Investigators said Evans and the victim did not know each other, and the shooting appeared to have started as a road rage encounter. The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Aerial footage showed law enforcement vehicles surrounding a black SUV with a shattered front passenger window. The investigation shut down all northbound lanes of I-95 at Hillsboro Boulevard for several hours, leading to major rush-hour delays.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
