21-Year-Old Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Northwest Ohio

OHIO — A 21-year-old Defiance man died early Sunday morning after his vehicle crashed and overturned into a creek in northwest Ohio.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:15 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 25 and County Road W. Troopers arrived to find a car submerged in Brush Creek.

Investigators said the vehicle was heading south on County Road 25 when it veered off the east side of the road, struck a guardrail end and bridge abutment, and flipped into the creek.

The driver, Preston Boundy, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said it’s unclear whether he was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Due to structural damage to the bridge abutment, County Road 25 remains closed at Brush Creek as the investigation continues.
