Man suspected of killing mother, daughter, and her boyfriend in Bronx murder-suicide

Police are investigating a possible triple murder-suicide after four people were found dead inside a Bronx apartment Wednesday morning.

Authorities discovered the bodies of two men and two women in a fifth-floor unit at the Castle Hill Houses on Lacombe Avenue around 9:45 a.m. during a wellness check.

Investigators believe a 44-year-old man shot and killed his 75-year-old mother, his 26-year-old daughter, and his daughter’s boyfriend, who was also in his 20s, before turning the gun on himself.

All four were pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds, and police recovered a firearm inside the apartment.

Family members identified the 75-year-old victim as a warm and loving woman affectionately called “Golden Girl.”

“I’m devastated,” said Tiffany Evans, whose daughter is the elderly victim’s granddaughter. “She was a very loving person. Loving.”

Neighbors said there had been no known history of violence in the home, but one resident recalled a chilling remark the suspect made earlier that morning.

“The son went upstairs to visit someone on the 11th floor and said, ‘Sorry we couldn’t hang out, see you in the next life,’” said Lulu Anderson, a building resident.

Officials said the suspect also called his 20-year-old son in North Carolina around 8:10 a.m., leaving a voicemail that said, “Check on your family.”

The medical examiner will determine the official causes of death as police continue to investigate what led to the tragedy.

Residents of the Castle Hill community are now mourning the loss and praying for the family.
