Election Day in North Texas kicked off with cool morning temperatures, but warmer conditions are expected by the afternoon, with highs climbing into the upper 70s.
Above-average temperatures will continue throughout the workweek, thanks to a steady southerly wind flow. High pressure dominates the region, while a surface low-pressure system on the east side of the Rockies is tightening the pressure gradient, leading to breezy and occasionally gusty winds.
Skies will remain clear day and night — perfect timing to enjoy the November supermoon. The full moon, known as the Beaver Moon, rose over North Texas at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday and will stay visible until it sets at 6:57 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5. Traditionally, this moon gets its name from the time of year when beavers take shelter after storing food for winter. Tuesday and Wednesday night offer the best views before the moon begins to wane.
Temperatures are expected to warm even more by Wednesday, with highs returning to the low 80s. This warm trend will likely persist through the start of the weekend.
