Berkshire County Man’s Fiancée Fighting for Her Life, Needs Double-Lung Transplant

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire County community is rallying behind Luke Tomashek and his fiancée, Olivia Kravetz, as she battles stage 4 lung cancer and awaits a life-saving double-lung transplant.

Olivia, 30, a non-smoker, was diagnosed in May 2025, a discovery that turned the couple’s world upside down. Despite the devastating news, hope remains—Olivia has been accepted into the DREAM double-lung transplant program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

While this opportunity gives Olivia a fighting chance, the procedure and ongoing treatment come with tremendous financial challenges.

To help cover expenses, Olivia’s family created a GoFundMe page to support costs related to her ICU-grade medical air transport, ongoing medical care, and living expenses during her recovery.

“This is Olivia’s chance to overcome the cancer that has taken over her lungs,” the family shared. “Every donation, no matter how small, helps bring her one step closer to healing.”

Berkshire County residents are encouraged to donate or share the campaign to help Olivia and Luke through this difficult journey.
