Washington D.C. residents can look forward to a stretch of mostly sunny weather before a round of showers and changing conditions move in over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), today will bring clear skies and a high near 58 degrees, with northwest winds between 8 and 11 mph, gusting up to 22 mph. Tonight’s forecast calls for mostly clear skies, light winds, and a low around 38 degrees, setting the stage for a cool evening across the region.
Friday’s outlook shows an increase in cloud cover and slightly warmer temperatures, climbing to around 64 degrees. Winds will shift from the south at 6 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 28 mph. By Friday night, rain chances rise to 50%, bringing mostly cloudy skies and lows near 54 degrees. A Gale Warning remains in effect for all local waters, including the Maryland section of the Chesapeake Bay and the I-95 corridor through central Maryland and northern Virginia, as isolated damaging wind gusts remain possible.
The weekend forecast offers a mix of sunshine and showers. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 71 degrees, while Saturday night brings a 40% chance of rain after 1 a.m. Sunday looks partly sunny with occasional showers, holding steady around 70 degrees, followed by a cooler Sunday night with lows near 38 degrees.
Heading into next week, conditions are expected to cool down sharply. Monday will be mostly sunny but brisk, with highs near 47 degrees, and Monday night will dip to around 31 degrees under mostly clear skies. Veterans Day continues the sunny trend with a high near 49 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy Tuesday night and lows near 37 degrees. Wednesday should bring back warmer sunshine, topping out near 59 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook alongside the Gale Warning, advising boaters and small craft operators to take extra precautions. While no spotter activation is expected, residents are urged to stay alert to evolving conditions through early next week.
