MIAMI — Federal agents arrested a man who allegedly tried to lure a 10-year-old girl to his workplace for sexual abuse, according to a federal criminal complaint.
Authorities say Arjuna Davila Sequeira, 27, sent sexually explicit messages to the child — and later to an undercover federal agent posing as the girl — on Snapchat.
The Seminole Police Department began investigating after the girl’s father found the disturbing messages on her phone and briefly messaged Davila while pretending to be his daughter. Detectives attempted to set up a meeting but later referred the case to the FBI on October 27.
According to court documents, Davila continued to send graphic messages even after the undercover agent identified as a 10-year-old. He repeatedly asked for explicit photos and wrote, “I want more from youu.”
On November 2, Davila allegedly discussed meeting at his workplace — an Extra Space Storage facility at 212 NE 26th St., Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood — and offered to bring a THC vape, promising, “You’ll get high.”
Believing he had arranged a meeting with the girl, Davila opened the facility’s gate for what he thought was her cousin’s vehicle. Instead, FBI agents — including a SWAT team — were waiting.
Davila was arrested around 1:35 p.m. Agents found two cell phones, a condom, and a MUHA MEDS vape pen in his possession.
During questioning, Davila admitted that he “has a problem” and “wants to stop,” claiming he often adds minors on Snapchat. He told investigators he thought he was meeting a 16-year-old, not a 10-year-old.
As of Monday afternoon, Davila was being held at the Federal Detention Center in downtown Miami, according to prison records. Federal court filings show no scheduled hearings yet in his case.
