MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after she accidentally shot herself, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO).
Deputies responded shortly before 8 a.m. to the area of Northwest 56th Place and Northwest 195th Drive, where they found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower body.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Investigators said their preliminary findings indicate that the shooting was unintentional and that no one else was involved.
A Local 10 News crew at the scene reported that deputies had placed crime scene tape around the area as the General Investigations Unit continued its work.
Authorities said no additional information has been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
