A Miami-Dade County mayoral candidate appeared in court a day after his arrest in Miami.

Victor Rosario, 50, was taken into custody after police said he got into an altercation with one of their officers in Brickell.

A video posted on social media shows a driver leading officers on a brief pursuit on Saturday. The chase ended with Rosario’s arrest near Southwest First Avenue and Ninth Street.

Witnesses said he had been shouting into a megaphone outside an apartment complex when an undercover officer approached him.

Rosario faces several charges, including aggravated battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct.
