LODI, Wis. (WFRV) – A 76-year-old Illinois man has died at a hospital roughly two weeks after a two-vehicle crash on a central Wisconsin highway.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, officials were notified on November 15 that one of the drivers involved in an October 30 crash in Lodi had passed away.
The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. on Highway 60 near Hillestad Road. A witness told authorities that both vehicles were heading west when one attempted to pass a line of three or four cars and collided with a vehicle turning south onto Hillestad Road.
Both vehicles ended up on their sides in a ditch, trapping the drivers inside. First responders worked to extricate both individuals.
The Lodi Fire Department, Lodi EMS, Arlington Fire and EMS, Lodi Police Department, Brown’s Towing, and the Columbia County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted at the scene.
