Child Airlifted After Being Struck by Vehicle in Southeast Iowa

(Louisa County) – A 4-year-old girl was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday after being hit by a vehicle in Wapello.

The Iowa State Patrol reported that the accident happened around 6:25 p.m. in the 400 block of Jefferson Street. According to authorities, 29-year-old Kateline Marie Lilly of Wapello was turning into an alley when her vehicle struck the child, who was in the alleyway. The vehicle then backed up and stopped.

AirCare transported the girl to the hospital for treatment. The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and Wapello Police Department assisted at the scene.
