Fifteen Pensacola residents have been taken into custody after a large-scale investigation into drug trafficking involving fentanyl, methamphetamine and other narcotics in Northwest Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE said the operation began in April when investigators uncovered signs of drug activity. Authorities later identified 43-year-old Michael Perry Robinson as the leader of the organization.
On Nov. 19 and 20, agents executed 22 search warrants with assistance from several law enforcement agencies. Undercover officers were also used during the months-long investigation.
Authorities seized 14.6 pounds of fentanyl, 58 pounds of methamphetamine, 35 pounds of marijuana, 23 pounds of MDMA, 2.5 pounds of cocaine, 30 firearms and more than $60,800 in cash.
