More fog could develop tonight ahead of a chance for showers and storms early Wednesday.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Fog may return tonight before a line of showers and storms moves in early tomorrow.
Rain arrives late tonight:
Before the showers and storms reach the area, calm winds will allow foggy skies to form.
Showers and storms will enter the western Big Bend around 5 a.m. and slowly track across North Florida and South Georgia. Most of the region can expect wet weather between 6 and 8 a.m. Keep a rain jacket handy as you head out. Temperatures will be in the 60s.
The line of showers could produce a few gusty storms. Because of the low-end severe threat, the Storm Prediction Center issued a marginal risk (level 1 of 5). Most storms will not be severe, but one or two could bring winds up to 60 mph, small hail, or an isolated tornado.
The showers and storms will clear the region by lunchtime Wednesday. Clouds should gradually decrease through the afternoon. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s. Rain chances sit at 40%.
If you are traveling locally or across the Southeast tomorrow afternoon, you will not encounter any weather concerns.
Thanksgiving and Black Friday:
Cooler air settles in behind Wednesday’s showers. Thanksgiving morning temperatures will drop into the 40s. The afternoon will be breezy and sunny with highs in the 60s, though the wind will make it feel cooler. For fun context, Thursday’s forecast high of 65 is the average high for Christmas Day.
Friday will stay chilly, starting in the 30s with likely frost. Temperatures will rise to the low 60s under sunny skies and a light breeze.
Fire risk increases late week:
Very dry air and breezy winds will elevate the fire risk on Thanksgiving and into Friday.
A better chance for showers:
A more unsettled pattern may develop as November ends and December begins. There is a 30% chance of showers from Sunday through Tuesday. The setup is not fully certain yet, but there is enough consistency to raise those rain chances.
