OMAHA, Neb. — A fire broke out early Sunday morning at a southwest Omaha storage facility, causing significant damage but no injuries.
The blaze occurred around 6:30 a.m. near 180th and Harrison at the Public Storage location. Omaha Fire Department crews had to cut through the facility’s front gate to reach the fire.
Officials reported that 17 storage units were affected. Seven units were a total loss, while 10 others suffered heavy smoke damage. Among the items destroyed were an RV and two boats.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to determine if anyone was on the scene prior to the fire.
