A 17-year-old Jacksonville boy has been arrested after police say he fatally stabbed his father during an incident Tuesday evening.
District 4 officers responded to a home on Wheeler Avenue near Blanding Boulevard just before 7 p.m. They found Jervas Williams with multiple stab wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives reviewed evidence and interviewed individuals at the home, quickly identifying the victim’s son, Syr Williams, 17, as the suspect.
Police said Williams was taken into custody early Wednesday morning and is being held at the Duval County jail.
Authorities offered condolences to the family and said the investigation remains ongoing as they work to bring justice in the case.
