Lincoln pair arrested after meth, gun found in home with children, police say

Two people were arrested Tuesday after investigators found large amounts of methamphetamine and a firearm inside a Lincoln home where two children were present, according to Lincoln Police.

As part of an ongoing investigation into meth distribution and illegal firearm possession, officers obtained a search warrant for the home of 37-year-old Joshua Heller and his Chevrolet Silverado. Investigators said they saw Heller leave the residence, pick up a man known to be a parole absconder, and later detained both men.

Police reported finding a loaded .40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun in a holster near where Heller was taken into custody. A search of his vehicle uncovered another loaded magazine and a backpack containing Heller’s driver’s license and a baggie holding 319.2 grams of suspected meth, according to court documents.

Officers then carried out a knock-and-announce warrant at Heller’s home, where they found 29-year-old Jessa Siebe along with a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old child. Inside the home, investigators said they discovered two additional bags of suspected meth totaling 690.6 grams, a pistol, and about 150 rounds of ammunition—items police noted were easily accessible to the children.

Siebe reportedly told investigators that Heller brought the firearm into the home for “their protection,” and that she had asked him to remove it. Both Siebe and Heller are convicted felons and cannot legally possess firearms.

Heller faces multiple charges, including two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, two counts of child abuse without injury, possession of more than 140 grams of meth, and possession of money related to a drug violation. His bond was set at 10% of $500,000.

Siebe was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of child abuse without injury. Her bond was set at $250,000.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on January 8, 2026.
