A reported hit-and-run in a Walmart parking lot led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Oregon man on multiple felony charges, including allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor, according to the Auburndale Police Department.
The incident occurred on the morning of November 29, 2025, when officers responded to the Walmart at 2120 Highway 92 West. A witness directed them to a vehicle suspected in the minor traffic incident. Police contacted the driver, identified as Jesus Moisesbravo Beltran of Umatilla, Oregon.
During the investigation, officers discovered a 15-year-old juvenile in the passenger seat. The juvenile’s mother arrived at the scene and, upon reviewing the teen’s phone, found explicit text messages, photos, and videos allegedly sent from Beltran’s phone number. Detectives later confirmed the number belonged to him.
Authorities allege that Beltran had traveled roughly 2,900 miles from Oregon to Florida. During the visit, he allegedly provided alcohol to the juvenile. The juvenile reported to detectives that after consuming the alcohol, they lost consciousness and later awoke in compromising circumstances with Beltran.
Beltran was initially charged with five felonies, including transmission of material harmful to a minor, traveling to meet a minor, and lewd and lascivious molestation.
On December 4, 2025, police provided an update following a forensic interview with the juvenile. Investigators stated the interview revealed further details, alleging that Beltran provided alcohol that left the victim physically weak and unable to defend against unwanted sexual advances and an attempted sexual battery.
As a result, two additional charges were filed: lewd and lascivious battery, a first-degree felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor. Beltran is currently held without bond at the Polk County Jail.
The Auburndale Police Department has not released further information regarding the initial hit-and-run report or any prior connection between Beltran and the juvenile. The case remains under active investigation.
