Indianapolis mass shooting leaves 7 shot, 2 dead

At least two people were killed and five others injured early Sunday in a shooting at a northwest Indianapolis shopping center, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the parking lot of a Shore Terrace shopping center, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while three were hospitalized. Another victim went to a hospital on their own, and a seventh sought help at a nearby fire department.

Police have not made any arrests. Officials said a disturbance occurred before the shooting, though details were not released. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to a felony arrest.

The victims’ names are being withheld pending notification of relatives. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The shooting happened just hours after a separate incident in northwest Indianapolis, where two officers came under fire from an armed suspect at a McDonald’s. The suspect was apprehended, and no officers were injured in that incident, police said.
