A 32-year-old Miami-Dade man admitted to a road rage incident while carrying both a gun and a knife in the Coral Terrace neighborhood, according to court records.
Deputies arrested Kayan Henrique De Almeida Fernandes on Friday, and he remained at the Metrowest Detention Center as of Monday. The arrest stems from a Nov. 6 confrontation, records show.
According to an arrest report, De Almeida Fernandes, who works as a tour guide, told deputies he got into a verbal argument with a woman over her reversing her vehicle into a driveway. Deputies said he was driving a silver 2019 Hyundai Elantra when he yelled at the woman about her driving and threatened to kill her and her husband before speeding away.
Deputies arrested him shortly after 9:25 a.m. Friday near Southwest 75 Court and 34 Terrace. They found a pocketknife on him and a firearm inside his car, records show.
A surveillance camera recorded the road rage encounter in front of the victims’ home, according to the report. No one was injured.
De Almeida Fernandes appeared in court on Saturday, where a judge ordered him to stay away from the victims and set his bond at $20,000.
Court records show he faces two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch was assigned to the case.
