A Freeze Watch has been issued for parts of Southeast Texas, as a powerful cold front will drop temperatures to near or below freezing overnight Sunday and Monday morning. This forecast is the first possible freeze of the season in our neighborhood.
The counties of San Jacinto, Burleson, Brazos, Washington, Grimes, Montgomery, Liberty, Colorado, Austin, Waller, Chambers, Fort Bend, and Harris are under a freeze watch.
Frost and freeze conditions may harm crops and fragile plants and damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Here are the steps you need to take by Sunday night:
- People: Check on those without reliable heat
- Pets: Bring animals indoors
- Plants: Protect sensitive vegetation
- Pipes: Wrap or drip exposed pipes, especially in colder outlying areas
Most places should get back above freezing by mid- to late Monday morning.
