Trump issues stark warning as U.S. launches major strikes: ‘Harder than you’ve ever been hit’

President Donald Trump issued a blunt warning to terrorists on Friday as U.S. forces launched what officials described as a massive retaliatory campaign against Islamic State targets in Syria.

The escalation followed extensive U.S. air and artillery strikes aimed at ISIS strongholds, according to The New York Times. The operation fulfilled Trump’s pledge to avenge the deaths of two U.S. Army soldiers killed in a terrorist attack in central Syria last weekend.

As the strikes unfolded, Trump posted a lengthy message on his Truth Social platform, directly threatening groups he said were “evil enough to attack Americans.”

“Because of ISIS’s vicious killing of brave American Patriots in Syria, whose beautiful souls I welcomed home to American soil earlier this week in a very dignified ceremony, I am hereby announcing that the United States is inflicting very serious retaliation, just as I promised, on the murderous terrorists responsible,” Trump wrote.

He said U.S. forces were striking ISIS positions “very strongly” across Syria, describing the country as “a place soaked in blood” but one that could have “a bright future if ISIS can be eradicated.” Trump added that the Syrian government supports the operation.

Trump then delivered a direct warning: “All terrorists who are evil enough to attack Americans are hereby warned — YOU WILL BE HIT HARDER THAN YOU HAVE EVER BEEN HIT BEFORE IF YOU, IN ANY WAY, ATTACK OR THREATEN THE U.S.A.”

He signed the post, “DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

According to The New York Times, the operation involved U.S. fighter jets, attack helicopters, and artillery fire and was expected to continue for several hours into early Saturday. A U.S. official described the assault as a “massive attack.”
