New Yorkers Prepare For A Chilly Weekend With Low 30s And Perhaps Snow Flurries

New Yorkers will expect a chilly start to the weekend, with partly sunny skies today and highs in the low 30s. Wind chill values will make it feel even colder, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 degrees in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.

Tonight, all boroughs are anticipated to have partly overcast skies with lows in the low 20s and west breezes around 7 mph. A modest probability of snow is expected to begin after 1 a.m. on Saturday night, with Manhattan having a 20% chance and the other boroughs having 30%. Despite the freezing conditions, the National Weather Service promises that no hazardous weather will fulfill their warning criteria in the following days, according to their Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Expect largely sunny weather on Sunday, with highs in the mid-30s across all five boroughs. Northwest winds will also persist, with speeds ranging from 5 to 10 mph. The rest of the week will see an increase in clouds and temperatures, with highs reaching the mid-40s by Wednesday and lows remaining stable in the low 30s each night.

The upcoming week is likely to see a steady warming trend; however, frigid temperatures will persist at first. Spotter activation is not forecast, according to the National Weather Service, implying generally calm weather despite the cold temperatures in New York City.
