Police: Davenport man charged after shooting at person, convenience store

DAVENPORT, Iowa – A Davenport man faces charges after police say he fired shots at a person and a convenience store.

According to an arrest affidavit, Keanan M. Jones, 34, fired at a person and a convenience store with people inside around 9:52 p.m. on Sept. 20 in the 2800 block of Telegraph Road. Surveillance footage showed the bullet struck near where the person was standing, police said.

When officers arrested Jones, they found a loaded handgun in his possession.

He is charged with:

  • Intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony

  • Assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor

Court records show Jones was booked into the Scott County Jail on Tuesday and later released after posting a $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 23.
