Two people face drug charges in Mercer County after authorities investigated illegal drug activity in Aledo.
According to a news release from the City of Aledo, the Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG) and the Aledo Police Department investigated an alleged drug operation in the city. Officers gathered enough evidence to secure a search warrant for a residence in Aledo. During the search, they found a package containing 250 grams of methamphetamine and 15 MDMA pills.
Emily Colson (Mercer County Jail)
Officers arrested Emily Colson, 32, of Aledo. She faces charges of possession with intent to deliver 100–400 grams of methamphetamine, a Class X felony, and possession of methamphetamine, also a Class X felony.
Daniel Rice (Muscatine County Jail)
Investigators identified a second suspect, Daniel Rice, 45, of Muscatine. He was arrested and charged with methamphetamine trafficking, a Class X felony. Rice remains in custody at the Muscatine County Jail.
Colson has a preliminary hearing on October 20 in Mercer County Court, while Rice is scheduled to appear in Muscatine County Court on October 24. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Muscatine Police assisted in the investigation.
