A man was killed in a dog attack early Sunday morning in Liberty City, Miami, authorities said.
Police responded around 12:53 a.m. to 812 NW 67th St., where they found a deceased man believed to be between 30 and 40 years old. His identity has not been released.
A neighbor told reporters that multiple pit bulls are kept on the property and that the dogs have previously bitten children attending the nearby Thena Crowder Early Childhood & Diagnostic Center, located about 200 yards from the home.
County property records show the house is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom property last sold in 2006 and owned by the estate of Marie Gedeus. The property has had a chain link fence added in 2017 and an aluminum modular fence in 2023.
This is the second deadly dog attack in Miami-Dade in just over a month. On Labor Day in Miami Gardens, 71-year-old Doreen Richards Broadbelt was fatally mauled by dogs while walking to work.
