INDIANA — A 47-year-old man who went missing during a fishing trip Monday has been found dead in Engle Lake, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
Officials said Michael Vinson of Ligonier was reported missing earlier in the day after he failed to return home. Conservation officers located a kayak, paddle and fishing gear floating in the water before deploying side-scan sonar to search the lake.
Divers recovered Vinson’s body around 4 p.m. from about 25 feet below the surface.
Authorities say the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
