The Philadelphia area is in for a breezy and cooler Thursday following the cold front that moved through Wednesday evening. Temperatures will drop significantly from the upper 60s and low 70s to the 40s and 50s, with a high of around 56 degrees. Winds will stay gusty throughout the day.
Temperatures will rebound slightly by Friday, climbing back into the 60s. However, a stronger system is expected to arrive Friday night, bringing rain and gusty winds and ushering in a more unsettled weather pattern for the weekend, with the highest chances of rain on Sunday.
This rain will come with an even colder front that will drastically change conditions heading into next week. By Monday and Tuesday, highs will only reach the mid-to-upper 40s, and widespread freezing temperatures are expected by Tuesday morning. Wind chills could drop into the 20s or even the teens in some areas, making it feel much colder. If you haven’t pulled out your winter gear yet, this weekend will be the perfect time to get ready for the chill.
