Brief Chance of Rain in Maryland Sunday Night and Monday Morning

Beautiful fall weather has returned to Maryland, and aside from a brief chance of rain early in the week, pleasant conditions will continue for several days.

Chilly Start to Sunday

Sunday will begin on a cold note, with temperatures in the 30s and lower 40s across most of the state by 7 a.m. The coldest readings will be northwest and west of the Baltimore metro area, where lows will drop into the mid-30s in parts of northern Baltimore, Carroll, and western Howard Counties. On the Eastern Shore, away from the bay, temperatures will settle in the upper 30s to low 40s.

High clouds will increase through the morning as temperatures climb into the mid and upper 50s by noon, eventually peaking in the low to mid-60s by mid-afternoon.

Scattered Showers Possible Sunday Night

Two storm systems will move along the East Coast between Sunday and Monday. One will track south of central Maryland, while the other remains farther north. Their proximity will be enough to bring a chance of rain across central Maryland and the Eastern Shore Sunday night into Monday morning.

The highest chance of rain will occur early Monday, mainly south of Route 50. Across the Baltimore metro, expect spotty, light showers during the morning commute.

Pleasant Fall Weather Ahead

Conditions will dry out by Monday afternoon, ushering in a stretch of mostly dry and comfortable weather through the rest of the workweek. Mornings will stay chilly, with lows in the 30s and low 40s, while afternoons will be mild, reaching the upper 50s to 60s.

A slight chance of showers returns Thursday as another front approaches, but otherwise, the week looks calm and seasonable.
