CRAWFORD, Miss. — A Crawford man is back in jail after a woman reported waking up around 2 a.m. to find him standing in her bedroom doorway, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
When the victim screamed, Malone ran from the home, deputies said. She recognized him as her neighbor and immediately called 911.
Authorities arrested Malone shortly after the incident. Investigators confirmed he has a prior criminal history in Lowndes County, involving previous burglary and sexual offense cases.
Malone now faces a charge of burglary of a dwelling and is being held at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Bond details have not yet been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
