HASTINGS, Neb. — The Adams County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a 15-month-old child was found in a ditch near the 2000 block of South Marian Road on October 4.
Deputies were dispatched around 8:01 a.m. following a report from a passerby. Hastings Fire and Rescue assessed the child, who was then transported to Mary Lanning Hospital for further evaluation.
A criminal investigation is underway to determine the circumstances and identify those responsible. The Nebraska State Patrol, Hastings Police Department, and the Department of Health and Human Services are assisting with the case.
