Davenport Man in Custody After Allegedly Striking Victim with Pop Rack

A Davenport man is in custody after police say he attacked a victim with a plastic pop rack and stole their cell phone, according to Scott County Court arrest affidavits.

Easker Williams III faces a second-degree robbery charge, Scott County Court records show.

Police were called around 3:15 p.m. Saturday to 1026 W. River Drive, Davenport, after reports of a robbery. Officers say Williams struck the victim three times with a plastic pop rack, then dumped the victim’s belongings on the ground. He allegedly took a cell phone, charger, and lighter without permission, grabbed the victim by the hair and left arm, and threw them to the ground.

Witnesses reportedly saw Williams hide the stolen items after leaving the scene.

Williams is being held on $5,000 bond at Scott County Jail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 14 in Scott County Court.
