Deputies Arrest Driver Going 149 mph on I-74

HENRY COUNTY, Ill. (KWQC) — Deputies arrested a 24-year-old man after clocking him driving 149 miles per hour on Interstate 74 early Sunday morning.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Brenden A. Ballard of Upper Marlboro, Massachusetts, faces two counts of speeding and reckless driving.

Deputies first tried to stop Ballard around 3:30 a.m. near mile marker 17, but he refused to pull over and continued driving into Knox County. Henry County deputies stopped at the county line and requested assistance from neighboring agencies.

Knox County deputies later located and arrested Ballard without further incident.

He was booked into the Henry County Jail.
