LOUISA CO., Iowa (KWQC) – A Davenport man was arrested after allegedly leading Louisa County deputies on a high-speed chase Monday afternoon.
According to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, an Iowa Department of Transportation vehicle spotted a reckless driver around 2:05 p.m. heading south on Highway 61 near Grandview. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle near Highway 61 and 130th Street, but the driver—later identified as 40-year-old Andrew Witham—sped off, reaching speeds of over 100 mph.
Authorities said Witham drove into Wapello at high speed, then turned onto Mill Street before coming to an abrupt stop near Cedar Street. Deputies arrested him at the scene.
Officials said a K9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics in Witham’s vehicle. A search turned up “crystalized substances” near the driver’s floorboard, which were sent for further testing.

Deputies said Witham is being held at the Louisa County Jail on a $11,000 bond.
