A man died Thursday morning after crashing his vehicle into another car and then a tree in west Miami-Dade, authorities said.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash happened around 6:10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Northwest 36th Street near 72nd Avenue.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the man who caused the collision to a local hospital, where he later died. Officials have not released his identity.
Deputies said the woman driving the other vehicle was not injured and was the only person in her car.
The crash brought traffic to a standstill at the busy intersection, but vehicles eventually began moving slowly during rush hour.
MDSO Traffic Homicide detectives are still investigating the crash.
