Fall Heat Wave Continues Across Central Illinois

DECATUR, Ill. – October is starting warmer and drier than usual in Central Illinois, continuing the trend from September.

Today will bring more clouds, but highs will reach the upper 80s, with overnight lows falling back into the 50s. Temperatures will remain hot through Monday, with highs near 90° on Thursday and Friday and upper 80s expected through the weekend into Monday.

While isolated showers are possible Thursday night and Friday, significant rainfall is unlikely. The best chance for showers and storms will come Monday evening into Tuesday morning as a cold front moves through the area.
