MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 1 in southern Miami-Dade County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. as the man was crossing the northbound lanes. He was hit by the driver of a black Hyundai and died near Southwest 291 Street, FHP spokesman Lt. Alex Camacho said.
Authorities closed the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 for approximately four hours while the investigation was underway. The investigation remained ongoing as of noon.
