MIAMI-DADE, Fla. — A fire erupted early Wednesday morning at an apartment building in Fontainebleau, prompting a large response from local firefighters.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported that more than 15 units responded to the blaze near the 9600 block of Fontainebleau Boulevard just before 4:45 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from a fifth-floor apartment and quickly entered the building to contain the fire.
The response was later upgraded to a second alarm due to the need for additional resources. Firefighters successfully brought the fire under control and evacuated the building to prevent further damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The American Red Cross was called to assist residents displaced by the incident.
