Florida Cold Front Today: Breezy Conditions, Showers And Possible Storms

A cold front entering East Central Florida will bring sporadic showers, gusty conditions, and beach hazards today, with drier and more seasonable weather expected throughout the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, showers over the Atlantic will continue to move onshore this morning, with more showers expected this afternoon and evening as the front approaches. While rainfall is unpredictable, localized lightning storms are possible later today, particularly along the coast and in neighboring inland areas.

Rain chances today range from 30% to 40% in Orlando, Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and Fort Pierce, tapering off tonight as the front weakens and moves south. Not all areas are anticipated to receive rain.

Beach and sea conditions are of concern. Forecasters predict bad to hazardous offshore seas today and tonight, with a moderate risk of rip currents at all regional beaches. Beachgoers are encouraged to swim near lifeguards and exercise caution in the waves.

Temperatures will stay warm and breezy today, with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Behind the front, Friday will be dry and mild, with colder overnight temperatures forecast, particularly in northern areas where lows may dip into the mid-40s to 50s.

Looking forward, Saturday and Sunday are predicted to be dry and pleasant, with highs in the low to mid-70s and acceptable nighttime temperatures. By Monday, most regions will be dry, with isolated showers possible along the coast.

Residents and visitors should monitor beach conditions, keep an eye on the radar, and schedule outdoor activities accordingly as the front goes through.
